One’s attitude towards an unknown opponent in an online chess match can be mostly explained by the current mood and key personality traits. Similarly, the increasing number of everyday interactions have these gaps we fill with our interpretations. Advancements in augmented reality communication meant to alleviate them will only partially solve the issue as we become more global and distanced. Without personal awareness and transparent design of online platforms, we can find ourselves isolated and misaligned.
